As a single parent how do you prevent bullying your child in school?

My husband left me when my child was just 5 years old. I cater to the well-being of my child alone. My child always comes home complaining about being bullied. Due to his small stature, others students are constantly bullying him. Watching your child experience the physical and emotional pain of bullying is heartbreaking and a pain I can't bear as a parent. I am unsure where to begin to help protect my child from bullying and violence. I am also afraid this traumatic experience might hurt him in the future. As a single parent, how do prevent bullying your child in school?

There are a few different things that you can do. The first thing you could do is talk with your child about it, explain why people often bully others and encourage them to find a group of friends to hang out with and support them. You can also talk to your child's teacher and the school principal about the situation so more people can try to prevent it from happening and watch out for your child. If it doesn’t seem to stop and the school hasn’t really done anything, you may want to put your kid in another school within the district.
